What to Expect During Your Pet’s Annual Exam

Pets can’t tell you how they’re feeling and you can’t always tell when they’re sick. That’s why regular visits to your veterinarian are important.
In addition to a physical exam, your veterinarian may test your pet’s blood, urine, and feces.
Comparing results from year to year shows your veterinarian if there have been any changes.
  • complete blood count (CBC) shows if your pet has an infection, inflammation, or is anemic.
  • complete blood chemistry panel including electrolytes and SDMA provides information about your pet’s liver, kidneys, pancreas, blood sugar, and hydration.
