Typical Puppy Vaccination Schedule
This vaccination schedule may vary based on your veterinarian’s recommendation.
6 to 8 Weeks
- 1st Distemper-Hepatitis-Parainfluenza-Parvovirus (booster in 3 weeks)
- Coronavirus (booster in 3 weeks)
- 1st Bordetella (kennel cough, booster in 3 weeks)
- Strongid-T (dewormer, booster in 3 weeks)
10 to 12 Weeks
- 2nd DHPP (booster in 3 weeks)
- Coronavirus (last one)
- Bordetella (booster yearly)
- Strongid-T (last one)
14 to 16 Weeks
- 3rd DHPP (booster in 1 year)
- Rabies (booster in 1 year)
- Start Heartworm Preventative
1 Year Later
- Distemper (booster in 1 year)
- Parvo (booster in 2 years)
- Rabies (booster in 3 years)
- Bordetella (booster yearly)
Recommended Tests
- Intestinal Parasite Exam (fecal)
- Heartworm Antigen Test
Dental Care
It is a good idea to start preventative dental care when your dog is young. The best way to do this is regular brushing with toothpaste specifically designed for dogs. Your dog’s teeth should be brushed multiple times a week, if not daily.
Spaying and Neutering
Spayed/neutered pets not only live longer and healthier lives, but they also make better companions. It is best to spay or neuter your pet anywhere from 4 to 6 months of age, or for toy breeds it is best to wait until they are at least one pound.
